Fit For A Princess

Known for her flawless beauty, impeccable style and radiating all kinds of goodness, Princess Diana is one to forever be celebrated. But all the media articles, interviews and pictures aren’t the only ways to truly know the history of her royal life.

It was through her fashion style where her personality was enlightened. In particular? That would be the fabulous dresses she flaunted. Whether it was awakening the life of phenomenal designs to events, dances or royal soirees, Princess Diana always looked fabulous. Best part? The majority of her dresses are being put up for auction on March 19th in London…and oh, how I wish I could attend! Hola.

The collection, which was originally auctioned off at Christie’s in 1997, includes dresses by some of Diana’s favorite designers: Bruce Oldfield, Victor Edelstein, Catherine Walker, Bellville Sassoon, Jacques Azagury and Zandra Rhones. My faves?:

This Victor Edelstein midnight-blue velvet evening gown was worn to the State dinner at the White House, when Princess Diana famously danced with John Travolta. It is estimated at anywhere between £200,000 and £300,000 {roughly $305,000 and $455,000}

This Zandra Rhodes white cocktail dress was worn to the Birthright benefit at the London Palladium in 1987. It’s estimated at £30,000 and £40,000 {roughly $45,000 and $60,000}

This Catherine Walker black velvet and beaded evening gown was worn for the Vanity Fair photo-shoot at Kensington Palace in 1997. It’s estimated at anywhere between £50,000 and £70,000 {roughly $75,000 and $105,000}

This Bruce Oldfield black evening gown was worn for an official portrait by Kird Snowdon and at the opening of “Les Miserables” at the Barbican centre in 1985. It’s estimated to go for anywhere between £30,000 and £50,000 {roughly $45,000 and $75,000}
