Iconic Eyes On Warhol Canvases

When someone even remotely asks this girl who my favorite icon is for all things fashion, there is one remarkable woman I always reply: Jackie O, of course. Known for her classic look + elegant style, Jackie is one I always compare myself to before walking out the Casa Blanca doors. Would Jackie wear this? Hola.

Oh, but weekend just got even better. The hip museum, Blain|Di Donna, located inside the UES Carlyle hotel has devoted an entire month {it started yesterday!} to Andy Warhol’s artistic work of, you guessed it…the one + only, Jackie Kennedy. The exhibition begins with paintings of Jacqueline on the day of JFK’s assignation on November 22, 1963: from the smiling arrival at Dallas Love Field, through motorcade, to the administration of the oath for the new President Johnson on Air Force One, and finally, at the funeral, as she transforms from a glamorous and iconic First Lady to a grieving widow. There are over 50 Warhol pieces featuring Jackie’s expression of grief + courage, and I cannot tell you how excited I am to hightail on up there tomorrow after work! Bonjour. Whether you’re looking for a fun-filled A+A {alcohol + art…oh, I definitely just made that up!} afternoon of prancing into The Mark Hotel for their amazing cucumber martinis before/after the exhibition, or just want to be inspired by two of the most iconic individuals of our time, check out Andy Warhol | Warhol: Jackie. It totally shows how exquisite + timeless iconic eyes can be viewed on any Warhol canvas! Happy Weekend! B+H
