Create Macarons In Your Casa…Payard Style!

I’ve always admired the brilliant work of Francois Payard. Not only did he bring the first macaron to the States, but he continuously amazes his fans with innovative launches + expansions. And since I moved to NYC, he has been such a kind friend showing me the in’s + out’s of his talent {click here for my first post in kitchen!}. So when he told me to come by the Payard Soho Bakery one afternoon {click here for the full cooking video!} for a surprise that had not been released to the public, I had no idea to expect!

Little did I know, Payard was soon to be launching macaron shells. Um…yes please! Not only are those bad boy shells hard to make, but the recipe consists of actually putting your hand in boiling hot water {video clip below}! Um…can I just create the macaron filling? Oh, yes!

Payard is now letting his fans get creative in the kitchen…sans burns, of course. So instead of making the shells, you can go buy your desired flavor and get innovative at home! I’m totally thinking of creating one called the Southern Mint Julip…bourbon + mint + marshmallow fluff filling, oh my!

Whether you’re looking for a creative way to have a sweet time with your mom tomorrow in the kitchen or are craving to throw an out of the box party with your friends soon, check out the Payard site or stores to buy their macaron shells. It’s officially time to bring the Payard talent into your Casa!
