Who wouldn’t love to travel over to Greece and relax on their beautiful islands? Just to mingle with the locals, buy some of their Evil Eye jewelry pieces, and my personal favorite: devour their amazingly fresh and delicious dishes.
But to make the trip over to Greece from Manhattan multiple times a year just to taste their foods isn’t realistic. Well, thank goodness I found Periyali! It’s my favorite Greek restaurant in the city that will keep me sane until a future trip to Mykonos or Santorini is planned. Opa!
My favorites?:
Saganaki {Greek fried cheese for a perfect appetizer}
Pazaria Skordalia {beets with garlic sauce}
Solomos Exohiko {wild salmon baked in phyllo with spinach}
Souvlaki Fileto {charcoal grilled Shish kebob of filet mignon}
Lavraki Plaki {filet of stripe bass baked with tomato and vegetables}
I love their fabulous Greek dessert selections!
Who says you have to get out of the city to enjoy the culture of the world? Periyali {located on 20th between 5th and 6th} brings a refreshing taste of Greece to us. Opa!
