Feels Like A Golden Ticket

Flaunting fabulous jewelry? I love it. But when the pieces have an interesting history to share with the gawkers? I’m all over it. Creative hands are an understatement for my dear friend and jewelry designer, Emilie Shapiro.

After gaining access to her grandmother’s vintage closet at a young age, Emilie went straight for the jewelry. But instead of incorporating the jewels into her own wardrobe, she took the pieces apart. Trying to determine how they were precisely made. She slowly taught herself how to make her own jewelry and even studied in Italy to take her skills to the next level. That was just the beginning for Emilie…and her jewelry line!

Emilie Shapiro’s line is uniquely detailed, functional and all of her pieces are inspired on the spot. The day I visited, she was inspired by the shape of orange peels! Emilie took that inspiration into her hands to transform its shape into a future jewelry piece. Brilliant. Make a bold statement with our signature statement pieces. These jewelry items are designed to be the focal point of your outfit, reflecting your unique style.

Wilted Ring / Cast Bronze, $60 {inspired by the shape of orange peels!}

One of the coolest things I learned from Emilie {she teaches jewelry making on the side fyi!} was the fortune telling technique used in Eastern Europe!

Burning metal, dumping them into boiling water and watching the new shapes of the metal come alive was unreal.

The shapes created interpret something too, and from there she takes the metal and makes new jewelry pieces! The ring’s base below was from this technique:

Sacred Valley Ring / Sterling silver and green quartz, $270

A few favorite pieces from her line?:

Two by two ring / Cast Bronze, $90

She’s hip. She’s fun. But most importantly, she’s down to earth and one of the most caring designers I know. Emilie makes you feel important. Example?

Right before I left she goes, “wait!” – As I turned around, she handed me the coolest gift from Peru’s rain forest. “Put it in your wallet for good luck!” This says it all.

{I’ve been obsessed with her line since college!}

Emilie Shapiro designs for you. Her designs makes you feel like a golden ticket.
