Falling Into Football This Fall

My favorite time of the year {aka football season!} has finally arrived, so when I was brainstorming what would be the most fabulous way to celebrate the new season it was a must to throw an NFL Kickoff Party. In candlelight, of course! Hola.

invitation i sent out…and yes, im the game day official. hola.

But as I was getting the soirée together, I tried to brainstorm the perfect little munchies to theme around the big day. Finger food is always a hit! My picks for the hungry fans?

assorted cheeses for the box seat senors

first down fruit for the cheerleaders

And I also threw in some petite carrots + spicy hummus {just for the orange wearing Bronco fans!}. It was all the perfect fill me up as the chili bar was being prepared and the chili brewing in the pot was almost complete…thanks to Chef Tatum!

As the party began to fill up and the guests were getting anxious for the first kickoff, I turned the chanel from the Pandora playing in the background to ESPN. And what do ya know…my cable went out! But as any hostess should know, freaking out is not the solution. You always have a plan B. And since the room was filled with football fans {aka guys}, I put them to work! These money makers figured out how to stream the game on my iMac desktop {also in my living room!}, and turned it towards the crowd. Voila! Best part? I turned the lighting down on the keyboard so it didn’t kill my candlelight ambiance…bonjour! Everything just always works out.

eye black. we really got into the game.

Between bourbon shots flowing + eye black getting handed out to the crew, the party was on a roll. But there was one company who sponsored the event that made everything go up to an entire new level. That would be popchips!

Their new sweet potato pops are seriously the go-to when figuring out what to serve your guests while watching football this fall! Easy + cheap + everyone gets immediately addicted. What’s not to love?

Since I wanted to intertwine these pops into the NFL world, I labeled them “pigskins” hehe…why not?

They were front + center the entire game so guests could easily reach for the pops while not taking their eyes on the screen. So perfect, not to mention delicious!

Other game day accents in the room?

yellow napkins labeled “penalty flags”

a chili bar {oh hello, fall!} for the meatheads. plus, my friend zack {aka chef tatum} totally blew the idea out of the water when he arrived with 8 ziploc containers of chili topping essentials! all adding their own savory touch.

i mean. it’s got football written all over it!

Before the guests left, I had little brown lunch bags with a sign that said we want to call a timeout to say thank youhola. It was the perfect + quick idea for the crowd to reach into the “touchdown” candy bowl and pick the treats they desired. And all in all, the Casa Blanca NFL Kickoff party was one for the books! Oh, how excited I am to fall into football this fall! B+H
