Stumptown Coffee

On those lazy Saturday mornings when its cloudy and dull outside and you’re just looking for a way to relax or ease off the hangover from the night before. I have two words for you: Stumptown Coffee

Conveniently located near my apartment on 29th between Broadway and 6th, this barista-staffed coffee shop is cheered on by locals. No seats are in the shop, but there is a great bar area to lean on if you’re meeting a friend. It’s cozily located in between two other hot spots of the moment: The Breslin restaurant and The John Dory Oyster Bar, both of which were created by the team behind The Spotted Pig…is your mouth watering already?

To top it off, Stumptown Coffee is located inside the Ace Hotel, which is the place to be seen into the wee hours of any night, and if you’re not into the party scene it’s fabulous on a Sunday night when they have live music….so relaxing with their comfortable couches all over the lobby. Trust me…it’s a three stop shot: rise at Stumptown Coffee, get a great burger in you for lunch at The Breslin, wing off the food coma you will no doubt receive from it in the swanky Ace Hotel lobby, and grab afternoon cocktails / snacks at The John Dory Oyster Bar. Done and done! Alright…I’m getting ahead of myself…back to Stumptown Coffee.

The staff is incredibly friendly, the cappuccinos are to die for, and they have Mast Brothers Chocolate at the front counter for you to munch on (a perfect treat to accent the coffee flavor!). Fresh pot coffee is my absolute favorite, which is quite the incentive for me to come in frequently as well. This hot spot is hip, attracts a wide demographic of customers, and allows you to leave with one word in your mind: satisfied.
