Gobble ‘Till You Wobble {thanks to MB Regan!}

It’s officially Gobble Gobble time everyone! Today is one of my favorite holidays of the year, and I’m so thankful for everyone in my life. Including my favorite SoulCycle instructor, MB Regan. MB is such an inspiring person {and so are her killer biceps!} to train with daily, and she consistently clears my head in class {sans stress in a city filled with it!}. All in all, MB is my go to for tips and all things healthy!

So, when I was recently concerned about traveling back down South to a town filled with a “more butter the better” mentality, I turned no further than to MB to give me {and all of you B+H readers} advice on how to burn off all the Cals you consume tonight, and how to immediately vanish that mini calf baby in your tummy tomorrow morning!

MB, I need your help…I’m heading from this city filled with a “Liquiteria / Organic Avenue liquid diet” mentality to my hometown where I can’t help but indulge in anything smothered in gallons of butter. I’m sorry, but it’s just too amazingly delicious…especially Loveless Cafe’s well-known biscuits! Any tips on simple exercises I can do this morning before I sit down to a table filled with the naughties?

There is a simple work out that you can do to get your metabolism reved up. And, you can do this one ANYWHERE…{hotel room…airport waiting area…subway car…you get the idea!} YOU are the gym…and you’re surrounding the equipment.

Below is a workout called 100’s:

100 push-ups/ 100 squats/ 100 lunges {50 right/ 50 left} 100 tricep dips/ 100 crunches.

Give yourself about 20 minutes or less to finish…non-stop. You can split them up in any variation {for example: circuits of 10 reps of 10 sets or 20 reps of 5 sets…}

Are there certain foods that I should lean towards more than others at the dinner table tonight? But yet still allow me to get the satisfaction of having an amazing Thanksgiving dinner?

Eat all the turkey and greens that you desire, especially if they are steamed or raw.  If you are going to have dessert, go for the pumpkin pie or cheesecake {they have the least amount of sugar and calories}. Also, you can bring a calorie controlled dessert with you such as a protein bar, chocolate bar or anything that has the amount of calories listed so you are aware of your intake.  Last but not least, make Thanksgiving Day your “free day” and eat whatever you want {this is what I do!}. I usually take one day off out of the week from my diet and exercise {call it your “cheat day”}.

Before I attend any of the holiday parties or Debutante Balls this weekend, do you have any snack tips on how to be pretty full before I arrive so I don’t gallop onto the buffet table and indulge into everything in sight?

Have a protein shake, nuts or  2 tablespoons of peanut butter to take the edge off before your soiree!

Is there anything I can do within an hour before the holiday parties to appear toned, fabulous, and have a little glow? Since I’m not going to be able to sweat out the sweet goodness in your intense spinning classes for a week, what type of cardio or lifting do you suggest that I do at my gym in Nashville? I don’t want to be flying off the bike in your class once I come back up here next week!

Go for a run/ walk/ HIIT {high intensity interval training} or whatever puts you in a great mood. But, right before you make your entrance pump out 20 or more push ups! As you ring the door bell, you will have a glow and that “parking lot pump.” Also, I often tell the brides that I train to put a brick in their bouquet to display their fabulous guns as they walk down the aisle…

Well readers, this year we will be able to “Gobble ‘Til We Wobble,” and even “have our cake and eat it too” thanks to MB Regan’s workout tips for staying fit this Thanksgiving! B+H
