Cuddle up. With a Cup. It’s a Holidate.

When I was asked out on a date to grab hot chocolate and look at the lights in Midtown this week, my first question to myself was “what do I wear?” Well, since we have been having cold weather recently I went with the direction of being warm…and comfortable!

After seeing too many orange Joe Fresh bags swinging about the city, I decided to go into this store to see if they had anything fab I could flaunt. Thank goodness they did! Joe Fresh has high quality clothing and makeup products, and their retail prices are even incredibly reasonable.

My favorite picks for staying warm / spreading chic holiday cheer?

Fluffy ear muffs and gloves, $14 each

Drooped black sweater, $29

I tried on this sweater, and the length of it was a bit shorter than what my conservative style was used to. But, I loved how I could throw it on top of a black turtleneck to give my collar shape a little somethin’ somethin’ underneath a trench and over skinny jeans!

Finally, it was time for this cute date! Boys, take a note on this one…If you want to be smooth, see your girl, and have the opportunity to see NYC’s lights all at the same time I definitely suggest “xerox”-ing {french translation} what we did this week!

Our banana pudding on top of his hot chocolate!

The two of us met at Rockefeller Center in front of the tree, and although our original plan of grabbing hot chocolate at La Maison du Chocolat {it was closed!} fell through, we went next door to a place no one can turn down: Magnolia Bakery. I had mentioned my love for their banana pudding, and when my date ordered our hot chocolates with whipped cream he added an order of banana pudding for us…how sweet was that!

We glanced at the lights in the area, acted like out of towners, and walked down to Bryant Park. Little did I realize that they have an amazing holiday market surrounding this fun ice skating rink in the middle of the park. It was just beautiful!

We ended the night by finishing up our Magnolia Bakery goodies on a walk en route to Madison Square Park! The two of us sat on a bench there, looked at the tree lights in the background and laughed about our dorky yet wonderful night. I highly suggest doing the same while the lights are still up with your special someone! Cuddle up. With a Cup. It’s a Holidate.
