Icy Sweet Munch

Every time I walk into the magical store called Ladurée on Madison, I always walk out with two feelings: satisfied & happy. But it was a recent trip to this land of homemade Parisian macarons that I was exposed to the best kept secret in the maison!

On my last visit to load up on bunches & bunches of Ladurée’s salted caramel macarons, I spied that they are now selling sorbet cups with macaroons on top. Seeing those, I impulsively asked the cashier if they also had ice cream sandwiches {my fave!} for sale. He quickly turned to me and said, “you do know what Ladurée’s best summer treat is…right?”

Thinking I knew their menu top to bottom, I looked dumbfounded. He said, “Well if you buy our vanilla macarons, and put them in your freezer once you get home, they will taste like the best ice cream sandwiches you’ve ever had!” I politely responded with “I’ll take two, please!” Hola.

This was the same feeling when someone finally told me {not about Santa…} that Magnolia Bakery’s cupcakes were not the go to…but their fabulous banana pudding! I could barely wait to get home and pop these chicas into my freezer!

Perfect for cooling down on a hot summer day or a delectable way to conclude a dinner evening, Ladurée’s {frozen!} vanilla macarons are a golden home run! Ooo la la are they beyond delicious frozen! And they’re the perfect icy sweet way to munch the rest of summer! B+H
