#MBFW Jason Wu: Structured But Controlled

In case you haven’t realized {or were wondering why all the familiar faces of Vogue have been out more than usual the past few days!}, it’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. And oh, what a thrill {and stress!} it is to see for the first time this year not only the lights brightening up on time {incredibly rare for the fashion world…}, the models strutting {like it’s already Fall 2013} down the runways at each show, and most importantly, the collections presented by the world’s most prestigious designers. Hola.

Although, thanks to Mother Nature, the city was pounded this week with tons of slush, freezing rain and bunches of snow. Gracias, Nemo! But that didn’t stop NYC’s editors, bloggers and fashionistas from quacking through the pavement in the highest of heels and risking a fine Fekkai blowout. In fact, even on the worst day the blizzard blew, everyone showed up to my favorite designer’s presentation: Jason Wu.

And oh my goodness, the attendees went face to face with a collection Wu describes as a “powerful woman: feminine, beautiful and strong,” which included unexpected accents that ‘wow-ed’ the crowd before they stepped back into the dreary weather as we know it. My favorites from this fluidity-like feminine collection?:

Whether you’re running from show to show or tracking each collection via Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week’s Facebook page, mark down your favorites of the season! Before you know it, the Fall 2013 season will have arrived. Hola! It’s best to be prepared. I’m ready to face the upcoming season what Wu describes his collection as “structured but controlled.” B+H
