Listen, I’m all about flaunting my born+bred natural lips, topped with a dollop of DuWop’s Lip Venom before a ladies who lunch moment or a glamorous night out at Polo Lounge. But, sometimes with an eclectic eyeshadow palette, it’s important to customize and be super {super!} picky with what shade you match to complete your look. Hola!
I was recently trotting down Larchmont when I came across the coolest of the cool storefront, Lip Lab by Bite, which had the most vibrant signs {and lighting} looking from the outside in. Obviously, while I was intrigued, I picked up my little King Charles, pushed open their door and flaunted on through their lipstick world of customization.
$55 for one lipstick + $80 for two!
And just as I expected, it was fabulous. Not only fabulous, but it was truly a unique experience. The women working with me {my little King} were so incredibly kind, passionate about their work, and particularly with regard to finding the perfect lip color to compliment my typical dark shades I flaunt on my bambi brown eyes.
Best part? The
process is so simple! After your consultation with a
Lip Lab’s specialist, they immediately start blending shades from the plethora of powders that encompass the store. You sample various shades. You say “hmm…this is so not me” to “interesting, I never thought about this shade before” to “wow, I want to incorporate this shade into my everyday life. Bring it on, LA lady.” And for me, I was aiming for the perfect nude-y pink!
After selecting your matte {oh, and your scent too…so, ever the pink Chapstick kind of girl, I opted for their faved cherry flavor!}, the elaborate process officially begins. And guess what? It takes less than 10 minutes for your customized lipstick to come to life.
Not only do they make your lipstick in front of your eyes, they make you a part of the entire process!
