Unleashing New Trends

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is filled with crazy schedules, bumper to bumper traffic and yes, stress. But when you’re viewing a show {or your watch to catch the next one on time…}, there is anything but anxiety in the room! Models are nonchalantly walking with ease, garments are flowing about the runway and the audience is totally engaged while trying to get the first glimpse of the trends for the next season. Hola.

But, when you get a chance to go backstage and get a feel for how much hard work and sweat went into making that runway show perfect, it truly makes you value it all so much more! I went backstage at the Costello Tagliapietra SS’13 show, and although I expected to see people running around like chickens with their heads cut off and models chucking champagne & inhaling their battery operated cigarettes, I was pleasantly surprised to see the exact opposite. Everyone was at ease, on time and in high spirits! And you better bet I couldn’t wait to whip out my camera and snap some of my favorites for y’all!

MAC Look Sheet For Costello Tagliapietra SS’13

Trying to capture the look of a porcelain doll, MAC brushed on the models makeup for the show exaggerating the focus on a bunch of blush around their cheekbones and eyes. Want to try the look at home? I noticed they were using the MAC 224 Tapered Blending Brush on the eyes with SS’13 colors {Right On Orange and Electric Spring available next Spring!} and their Cream Colour Base {in Luna and Pearl!} around the outer cheekbone, bridge of nose, inner corner of eye and over the eyelid. To enhance their appearance, they applied Lady At Play Mineralize Rich Lipstick {available in Spring 2013} to their lips, accentuating their beauty with a touch of elegance from the cosmetics factories.

Since the collection was filled with soft and neutral looks, Nelson Vercher of the Rita Hazan Salon created hair for the show emphasizing on romance and 18th century beauty! Between using Rene Furterer products and a large barrel curling iron, the final product looked so fabulous and elegant!

Well, thank goodness the frizzy yet soft look is back in {perfect for humidity next Spring…hola!}! But what products did Nelson use to capture the cool look? I snapped away at them…click here to purchase!

Natural Pink Essie Nail Polish

I love all of Essie’s nail polishes, and the light pink color lacquered onto the models fingers went perfect with the neutral tones of the show!

The Costello Tagliapietra collection took our breath away {yet again!} this fashion week. Whether you’re looking for new trends to flaunt or new hairstyles to poof, keep your eyes & ears open online and about town this week! It’s time to unleash new trends. B+H
